Ambanad Hills is a popular hill station and tourist destination located in the Punalur Taluk of the Kollam district of Kerala. Travancore Rubber and Tea Company manages the Ambanad plantation and estate, which is located in the Clove belt of India (Kollam – Nagercoil) and is among the biggest Clove estates in the nation.
It is popularly known as Mini Munnar as it’s one of the most picturesque locations in the entire South Kerala region, and tourists are sure to be mesmerized by its beauty. The area is also rich with a wide variety of flowers and trees. It is the only tea estate in the Kollam district and is also one of the largest Clove plantations in Kerala. The estate also has tangerine plantations.
Tourists visiting Ambanad Hills can enjoy a wide variety of places of interest, ranging from tea plantations to beautiful hills and water bodies to camping spots. Visitors get the chance to watch and learn about the tea processing at Ambanad Estate which is a British-era factory that still uses ancient machinery. Visitors also can choose to stay at the estate bungalow for rent INR 2500 plus INR 250 for food.
