Anchuruli Tunnel

Anchuruli Tunnel (Anjuruli Tunnel) is a surreal spot absolutely worth visiting. Located among the spectacular locations in Western Ghats Land. This 5.5-kilometer tunnel excavated through a single continuous granite connects Erattayar and Anchuruli, transporting water to the lake. Though risky, the tunnel is a fun site to walk through, especially for adventure seekers. The tunnel is 24 feet in diameter. During the tunnel’s construction, twenty-two individuals perished.

Anchuruli is a lovely tourist attraction in the small village of Kanchiyar, which is around 45 kilometers from Idukki. Kattappana, which is around 9 kilometers away, is the closest town. The village’s main attraction is this magnificent tunnel. Every month, hundreds of visitors and locals flock to this tunnel to photograph its splendor. The summers in and around Anjuruli are mild and pleasant, thus it may be visited at any time of year. If you still want to avoid the heat of the summertime, the best time to visit Anjuruli seems to be from September to March.
