Aruvikuzhy Waterfalls

Aruvikuzhy Waterfalls is a scenic waterfall located in the Kottayam district of Kerala. The waterfall is situated about 2 kilometers from Pallickathode and measures about 30 ft in height. It is a hidden gem and a beautiful picnic spot, surrounded by the quaint charm of the rubber plantations. The waterfall is a refreshing escape from the busy city life and is a popular movie shooting location.

Aruvikuzhy Waterfalls offer great opportunities for trekking, camping, and spending quality time with loved ones while enjoying the natural beauty of the place. Visitors can also experience the waterfall by taking a sunrise cruise with village life and local food or a Kerala backwater day tour. However, it is important to note that the Aruvikuzhy Waterfall is active only during the monsoon season (June to September).

The waterfalls boast well-maintained premises and carefully constructed resting spots that provide visitors with stunning views. However, there is no ground staff to guide visitors so caution is advised, particularly when swimming. The location provides a picturesque backdrop for photography and even allows visitors to take a brief shower in the water. Surely, It is an excellent venue for a meet-up with friends and families can also bring their children to the site since it is relatively safe and not too crowded.

One can reach Aruvikuazhy Waterfalls easily by road, but visitors must embark on a downhill trek to reach the waterfall. The waterfall is particularly magnificent during the monsoon season. The site requires an entry fee of INR 26, and visiting hours are from 9 am to 6 pm. Children below 5 years of age are not charged an entry fee. The nearest railway station is at Pala located at a distance of 17 kilometers from Aruvikuzhy Waterfalls. The closest airport is Cochin International Airport which is located about 85 kilometers away from the falls.
