How to Reach: Wayanad is easily accessible by road from major cities and towns in South India. It is located 85 kilometers away from Kozhikode (Calicut), 137 kilometers from Ooty, and 158 kilometers from Mysore. The nearest airport to Banasura Sagar Dam is Calicut Airport, situated 65 kilometers away. The closest railway station is Calicut Railway Station, located 86 kilometers away from the dam.

Visitors can reach the dam by hiring an auto-rickshaw or taking a bus from nearby towns like Sulthan Bathery, Kalpetta, or Vythiri. You’ll find forest-owned jeeps at the gate of it, which you can use if you’re not up for a walk. Yet it‘d be worth the ride. In general, the jeeps drop you off at the head of a large mud lane.
