The stunning Charpa Waterfalls is located in the Athirappilly area of Kerala’s Thrissur district. The waterfall is 70 feet high and is situated between the Vazhachal and Athirappilly waterfalls. Chalakudy River is the source of the waterfall, which is also a source of other waterfalls in that area.
During the monsoon season, these waterfalls look hypnotic and majestic as the water flows at a rapid pace offering an enchanting and incredibly beautiful setting. The Charpa Falls are attractive because they are very similar to the waters flowing down under the bridge across the falls on the road.
It’s a great photography point and a great experience. Getting down into the bathing falls is risky. The amount of water rises during the time July-August when the monsoon is in full flow.

How to Reach Charpa falls
As this fall is situated between Vazhachal and Athirapally, you can spend some time on the way. The fall is just 25 kilometers away from Chalakudy and you can reach here by road easily. The nearest railway station is Chalakudy which is roughly 37 kilometers away from the fall. The closest airport is Cochin International Airport. You can either hire a cab or use the bus service from Chalakudy.
