Chethalayam is one of Kerala’s lesser-known waterfalls, but locals consider it to offer some of the best trekking paths in the region. There are also a lot of unique plants strewn throughout the region. It’s a lovely picnic area with a pleasant breeze that follows you around the entire time.

There is a 4 4-kilometer trek from Kidangand to reach the beautiful Chethalayam Waterfalls. The Chethalayam Forest Range Office gives visiting passes to the waterfall. It is mandatory to obtain permission passes from the Chethalayam Forest Range Office before entering the jungle that surrounds the waterfall. It is recommended to hire a guide as the trekking through the jungle is a little rough and to be safe from the wild animals.
