Dhoni Waterfalls are situated in Dhoni, Kerala, about 15 kilometers from Palakkad and 34 kilometers from Kollengode town. A three-hour hike from the Dhoni hills’ base will bring you to the untouched beauty of nature, and the lush green surroundings will refresh your senses. The trek begins near the Teak plantations at the foot of the hills. A narrow mountain road leads up to the waterfall for four-wheel drives and bikes; however, private vehicles are not permitted to use these roads. It is best to begin the guided trek early in the mornings so that you can spend more time in the company of the beautiful waterfall.
When you get to the brink, you can see the beautiful waterfalls and take a bath in the cool water. Climbing up the rocks allows one to appreciate the beauty of the jungles, which are said to be home to leopards, elephants, and other animals. It is, however, rare to come across them. A 4 km walk can be dehydrating in a humid climate, and never climb the hill without stopping to rest, as constant climbing can tire you out and take away the enjoyment of trekking.
