The best time to visit is from June to September when the waterfall is in its full glory. However, you should be careful while walking near the waterfall, as the rocks can be slippery and dangerous. There are no entry fees or set timings to visit Elappally Falls.
How to Reach Elappally Waterfalls
Elappally Waterfalls is situated about 24 kilometers from Thodupuzha town, 84 kilometers from Kochi city, and 66 kilometers from Kottayam town. It can be reached by road from Kottayam or Kochi. It is easily accessible by buses, both private and public, along with taxis that take tourists and visitors to the site.
To reach the stunning Elappally Waterfalls, the only accessible mode of transportation is by road. Fortunately, there are two scenic routes to choose from.
The first route begins in Kottayam and takes you through charming towns like Pala, Kollappally, Neeloor, Muttom, and Moolamattom, before finally arriving at Elappally. This route spans about 66 kilometers and promises breathtaking views throughout the journey.
The second route sets off from Ernakulam and leads you through the picturesque towns of Muvattupuzha and Thodupuzha, before arriving at Moolamattom and finally Elappally. This slightly longer route spans approximately 84 kilometers but offers a spectacular drive that you won’t forget anytime soon.
The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport located 76 kilometers away, and the nearest railway station is Kottayam, located 66 kilometers away.
