Gundu Island (Perl Island) is the smallest island in the Kochi region which is around five acres in size. Kochi proclaimed the island a part of the city in 1967. The island is recognized for its lovely atmosphere and is only accessible by boat from Vypeen. The island’s pleasant wind and serene ambiance draw a large number of visitors. The solitary structure on the island belongs to a privately operated coir mill that uses handlooms to make ropes and carpets.
