Inchathotty Hanging Bridge (Inchathotty Suspension Bridge) is the longest suspension bridge in Kerala. Walking suspension bridge from Charuppara in Keerampara panchayath to Inchathotti in Kuttampuzha panchayath near Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district.
Charupara is on the way to Neryamangalam from the Punnekkad junction on the Kothamangalam – Thattekkad road. It is a place of natural beauty. Those who visit Thattekkad and go to Munnar can take the Punnekkad-Neryamangalam road, which is less than 15 km. The suspension bridge was built across the Periyar before the Bhoothankett Dam. Designed and built by Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Company Limited, a subsidiary of the State Government.
Below the Inchathotty hanging bridge is a boat jetty where a boat can be docked, and tourists are allowed to walk through the hanging bridge. Being on a swaying hanging bridge with a mixture of dread and exhilaration is an incredible sensation. Aerial panoramic views of Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary can be seen in photographs shot from the bridge. It is 60 kilometers from the world-famous Munnar hill station, and 70 kilometers from Kochi.
