Jatayu Earth’s Center

Jatayu Earth’s Center (Jatayu Earth Center), also known as Jatayu Nature Park or Jatayu Rock, is a park and tourism center in Kerala’s Kollam district, located in Chadayamangalam. It is situated at a height of 350 meters (1200 feet) above mean sea level. The world’s largest bird sculpture, which is of Jatayu, can be found at Jatayu Earth’s Center.

Artist Rajiv Anchal sculpted a massive concrete statue of Jatayu atop Jatayupara (para means rock in Malayalam), which is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest operable bird statue. The statue measures 200 feet (61 meters) long, 150 feet (46 meters) wide, and 70 feet (21 meters) tall, with a floor area of 15,000 square feet (1,400 m2). This rock-themed nature park, located roughly 38 kilometers (24 miles) from Kollam and 46 kilometers (29 miles) from Thiruvananthapuram, is Kerala’s first BOT-based public-private partnership tourist project.

The ticket prices for Jatayu Earth’s Center are as follows: a visit to the Jatayu Sculpture along with a cable car ride costs INR 555 per person, including tax, with timings from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends and festival days. Alternatively, a visit to the Jatayu Sculpture via the walkway is priced at INR 325 per person, including tax, and is available from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm daily.
