Karingali Puncha is a biodiverse wetland in Kerala’s Alappuzha district, renowned for bird watching, including rare species like the Bar-headed Goose. The wetlands are also a favorite tourist destination for their picturesque views, including Karingali Lake, which provides a clean and fresh water body for spotting local and migrating birds.
Visitors can also enjoy park and boating activities and nearby viewpoints surrounded by water and paddy fields. Kuttavanji boat ride, pedal boating, and a small children’s park are other attractions. The ideal time to visit is early morning or evening for the stunning views and delicious roadside eateries.
Visitors can enjoy pedal boating, which costs INR 200 for two people, or take a ride on the Kuttavanchi, which costs INR 400 for four people. There is also a small children’s park that offers a few activities. The location is also great for a quick photo shoot. There is no entry fee to visit Karingali Puncha and the recommended time to visit is between 4 PM – 6:30 PM.
