Kottancheri Hills

The Kottancheri Hills (Kottancherry Hills) is a collection of hills in Kasaragod district, Karnataka, near the Brahmagiri Hills of Kudagu. They are part of the Western Ghats region. The hills of Kottancherry mala, Kumban mala, Pannyar mala, and Kanthanppara are said to be in the shape of a fort, hence the name.

One must drive eight kilometres from Konnakad in Kasargod to reach Kottancherry Hills. The grandeur of the Kudagu Hills may be appreciated by the Kumban Hills. Konnakadu is 3 kilometres from Malom Hills on the Kerala-Karnataka border. The trekking in the Kottancherry Hills has all the makings of an adventure tourism attraction. You can reach Thalakaveri in Karnataka by walking 11 kilometres via the Kottancherry Forests. The beginning of the Kaveri River, Thalakaveri, is ideal for river rafting and other daring activities.
