Kulamavu Dam is a gravity/masonry dam located at Kilivillithode on the Thodupuzha-Puliyanmala state highway in the Idukki district of Kerala. The dam is a tributary of the Periyar River and is one of three dams connected to the Idukki hydroelectric power project.
Kulamavu Dam is a 100 ft gravity dam made of masonry at the bottom and concrete at the top. It is situated near the western end of the Idukki Dam and 22 kilometers away from the Cheruthoni Dam.

There is no fee to enter Kulamavu Dam but it’s with noticing that vehicles cannot be parked or stopped on the premises of the dam due to security reasons. One can visit the dam anytime throughout the year however photography is not allowed at this place.
The picturesque Kulamavu Dam is situated at Kilivillithode, along the Thodupuzha-Puliyanmala state highway. Ernakulam Railway Station is the nearest transportation hub, about 90 kilometers away, while Cochin International Airport is located 87 kilometers from the dam.
