Muloor Smarakam, also known as Muloor Memorial, is a significant memorial located in Elavumthitta, Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. Dedicated to the renowned social reformer and poet, Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker (1869-1931), during Kerala’s pre-independent era.

Muloor Smarakam is the preserved home of Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker, which has been transformed into a monument by the Department of Culture of the State Government. Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker, popularly known as Sarasakavi (humorous poet), gained recognition for his poetic works and social reform activities.
Muloor was a visionary who advocated for the upliftment of the oppressed classes and the empowerment of women. He also wrote many poems and songs that expressed his love for his motherland and his ideals of justice and equality.

The memorial encompasses his ancestral home, carefully preserved as a museum, and features a statue of Muloor unveiled by former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in 2005. The memorial includes a “Smriti Kudeeram” (memorial room) and a Muloor Museum, which showcases memorabilia related to the poet.

Visiting Information: Hours, Entry Fee, and Location
Sarasakavi Mooloor Smarakam is situated in the village of Elavumthitta, which holds great significance as the birthplace and primary residence of Muloor. The memorial is situated 13 kilometers away from Pathanamthitta town. Muloor Smarakam is open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm on all days except Mondays and national holidays. The entry fee is INR 10 for adults and INR 5 for children.
