The Olichuchattam waterfall is located about 6 kilometers from Muthappanpuzha on the way to the Vellarimala hills. It can be reached by a moderate trek of about 5 kilometers (3 hours) from the nearest road. The trek passes through dense forests, rocky terrains, and Chasmophytics which are plants that grow on rocks or in rock crevices. The trek offers a chance to witness the rich biodiversity of flora and fauna in this region, including some rare and endemic species. While the trek to the top of the falls may be challenging, the reward of witnessing the majestic beauty of Olichuchattam is worth every step.

The nearest railway station is at Kozhikode and the closest airport is Calicut International Airport which is located about 60 kilometers away from the falls. There is no entry fee for the falls but one might need to register at the forest department office before starting the trek.
