Overbury’s Folly is a park with a watchtower on the beach which is located is less than a kilometer away in Thalassery, a commercial town on the Malabar Coast in the Kannur district of Kerala, India. It’s named after the architect who designed it, E.N. In the 1870s, Overbury worked as a local judge in Thalassery.
Overbury decided to build a picnic area on the cliff in 1879. Despite the fact that he was unable to complete it, the location became known as “Overbury’s Folly.” It has panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. Overbury’s Folly is now a tourist destination that has been restored and redecorated. Locals come here in the evenings to rest and watch the sunset. There’s even a new open-air coffee shop on the beach.
