Asia’s Premier Snake Sanctuary: Parassinikadavu Snake Park
The park is home to several snakes and other tiny animals, including the Spectacled Cobra, King Cobra, Russell’s Viper, Krait, and several pit vipers. A huge collection of non-venomous snakes, including pythons, is also on display. The park is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of snakes, which are rapidly going extinct in many species.
The Parassinikadavu Snake Park is the pride of the south and is regarded as one of Asia’s finest snake sanctuaries. It is the sole reptile preservation center in Kerala and one of the most well-known in the country. The Visha Chikista Kendra, a medical institution that diagnoses and treats snakebites, was the driving force behind the creation of Parassinikadavu Snake Park. The major goal of building this park was to dispel myths about snakes, educate the general public about these creatures, and raise awareness among them.
Parassinikkadavu Snake Park welcomes visitors from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM every day of the week. One can explore Parassinikkadavu Snake Park at any time of the year, but the best experience is from October to March. The entry fee varies based on age: children aged 0 to 5 years can enter for free, those aged 6 to 17 years are charged INR 20, adults aged 18 to 79 years pay INR 30, and visitors above 80 years can enter for free.
