Explore the Breathtaking Beauty of Parunthumpara
Although locals refer to the viewpoint as a suicide point, safety barriers have been installed by the administration. The hilltop is easily accessible by vehicle, but caution should be exercised on the edges and curves. Visitors must trek 500 m from the parking area to reach Eagle Rock, but the walk is not too difficult, and there are several spots along the way to sit and relax.
The view from the top of the rock is considered the best. The area can become quite crowded during the pilgrimage season when Sabarimala devotees visit to witness Makara Jyothi, making it a busy place during this time. Nevertheless, the area is also popular with other tourists visiting Thekkady. The viewpoint offers a pleasant and calm atmosphere with cool and windy weather.
