Priyadarshini Boat Club

The Priyadarshini Boat Club at Kappil Beach in Thiruvananthapuram offers boating options for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area where the Arabian Sea, river, and backwater meet. The boat club is run by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC).

The boat club has safari and speed boats for rent and is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. The safari boats can accommodate up to 7 persons each and charge Rs. 600 for a 30-minute ride. You can also opt for speed boats that can seat up to 4 persons and charge Rs. 2600 for an hour or Rs. 600 for 10 minutes. Kayaking is also available with an hourly charge of INR 200 per person.

The area boasts coconut groves, islands, paddy fields, bird species, and the Kappil Pozhi sand bar. Visitors can also check out Kappil Beach, Varkala Beach, and nearby attractions such as the Varkala Aquarium, Sivagiri Mutt, and Anchuthengu Fort. There are ample parking spaces and eateries available at the boat club and the staffs are very friendly and welcoming.
