Rosemala View Point

The Rosemala View Point is a less explored eco-tourism destination located in the Aryanvaku region of the Kollam district of Kerala. It is a hidden gem that offers a breathtaking view tucked away in the lush forests of Shendurney and lies unspoiled deep within the forest approximately 11 kilometers away from Aryankavu. The valley gets its name from its appearance, which resembles the unfolding petals of a rose. The view is stunning and a must-visit place especially for those in the Trivandrum-Kollam area who can plan a one-day trip.

To reach this secluded spot, one must go on a 10 km journey through the jungle, making the trek itself a memorable experience. The road leading to the picturesque Rosemala View Point winds through steep terrain, offering glimpses of serene mountain streams amidst dense forests. The location can only be reached by driving uphill through the forest, a journey that takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes and requires a skilled driver due to the challenging roads.

The viewpoint can be reached by car, bike, or KSRTC bus, but those taking the bus will need to walk an additional 300 meters to reach the destination. The trail ride through the forest is only recommended for adventure enthusiasts, who will find the drive to be well worth the effort. It is recommended to take a jeep service rather than driving your own car unless it is a capable SUV. The local forest department can also assist with arrangements and guide you along the way.

The ticket counter closes at 5 pm and requires a 200-meter trek from the parking area to reach the viewpoint. Despite the difficult journey, the natural beauty of the area is worth the effort. It is advised to visit during daylight hours as the roads can be scary and unsafe at night and there have been reports of encounters with wild elephants and other dangerous animals. We recommend visitors bring water and snacks as there is only a small shop at the viewpoint.

The entry fee for Rosemala View Point is INR 40 per person and is open for visitors from 9 AM to 6 PM on all days of the week however the ticket counter closes at 5 pm. The best time to visit Rosemala View Point is from October to February. The Rosemala viewpoint can be reached by car, bike, or KSRTC bus services available from various cities.
