Located south of Paravur, it is a crowd-pulling estuary at the borders of the Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram districts. The nearest railway station is Kollam located at a distance of 14.5 kilometers and the closest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport which is located 80 kilometers away from the beach.
