Embark on an unforgettable trekking adventure to Brahmagiri Hills, one of Wayanad’s most renowned trails that offers breathtaking views without overwhelming first-time trekkers. Located in the heart of Wayanad, Kerala, the Brahmagiri Hills rise as silent guardians, holding within them the secrets of ancient tales and lush landscapes. According to legend, these hills derive their name from Lord Brahma, the creator in Hindu mythology, who is said to have laid the foundation stone for this majestic range.

Conquer Brahmagiri Hills: Trekking Essentials & Booking Details

Starting from the Forest Department camp shed at Thirunelli, the Brahmagiri Hills trek covers a distance of 10 kilometers and takes over 3 hours to reach the peak at 1608 meters. The trail is challenging yet rewarding, with gurgling streams along the way to refresh you amid the steep climb. As you ascend, majestic Brahmagiri hills in the distance provide constant motivation, and lucky observers might spot herds of gaurs or elephants with binoculars from the watchtower.

Prepare for the trek by wearing comfortable shoes and packing weather-appropriate clothing, snacks, water, and a first-aid kit. Respect local regulations and nature to preserve the environment. During the trek, if you’re lucky and have binoculars handy, you might spot herds of gaurs or elephants grazing in the valleys below from the watchtower.

The trekking slots are available at specific times from morning to late morning, allowing entry from 7:30 AM until 10:00 AM daily, with closures on Mondays and Fridays. For trekking, the fees are INR 2355 for Indian adults, with additional charges of INR 375 for extra members. The trekking fee for foreigners is INR 3100. Accompanied staff for school students is also available at a nominal fee. The trekking group is limited to a maximum of 10 persons per group. The experience promises an unforgettable adventure amidst the pristine landscapes of Wayanad. For more details and bookings, you can contact 8547602506.
