Agasthyakoodam Peak

Agasthyakoodam Peak, also known as Agastya Mala Peak, is the second-highest peak in Kerala with an elevation of 1868 meters. It is located within the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary and is part of the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve. The peak is named after the sage Agasthya, who is believed to have meditated here. A shrine dedicated to him is situated at the top of the peak.

Food and accommodation are provided by the Forest Department at the base camp. Keep in mind that only 100 passes are issued per day, so be sure to have all necessary documents ready when booking opens to secure your spot. The trekking fee as of 2023 is INR 1800 and it may vary in the coming years.

– Day 2: Athirumala Base Camp to Agasthyakoodam Peak and back (10 km)
