Ashtamudi Lake in the Kollam district of Kerala offers houseboats, lake resorts, lush greenery, and exotic biodiversity. There are towns and villages dotted with coconut groves and palm trees along both of the lake’s banks, as well as along its backwater canals. The significant historic Kollam Port is situated on the lake’s right bank. The Kollam Boat Club runs boat trips from Kollam to Alappuzha, allowing access to numerous additional cities and villages along this route. The boat ride takes eight hours and passes through lakes, canals, and communities that are only accessible by water. The Chinese fishing nets used by the local fishermen are also seen around the waterway.
