The Chemmappilly Hanging Bridge (Chemappilly suspension bridge) is built across the canal connecting Nattika and Thanyam panchayats in the Thrissur district of Kerala state. The bridge is located 25 kilometers away from the Thrissur town and not declared as a tourist spot though it has the potential to develop as one of the tourist attractions in the Thrissur district.
One should be careful walking through the bridge as the maintenance work of this bridge was not carried out for a long. The green view on both sides of the river is mesmerizing and it’s a nice place to visit with your family and friends. You can find local toddy shops on both sides of the bridge and this bridge was a location for many Malayalam film songs. Due to its serene atmosphere, this bridge is often chosen by people for photoshoots and marriage video shoots.
Please note, vehicles are not allowed through Chemmappilly Hanging Bridge, only bicycles are allowed to pass through the bridge. The best time to visit Chemmappilly Hanging Bridge is during the evenings and there are peddle boats available.
