Established in 1984 by the Government of Kerala, the Kerala State Science & Technology Museum in Thiruvananthapuram is an autonomous institution. The museum was established to provide a dynamic platform for science communication for the general public and to foster in young minds a spirit of curiosity and scientific temperament. The museum is a must-visit if you love science, astronomy, or technology.
The museum has galleries on popular science, mathematics, automobile, biomedical engineering, computer, and solar energy, as well as galleries with more than 300 exhibits on electricity, electronics, power, and motion mechanics. Also has the Priyadarsini Planetarium, a Science Park, a Mobile Science Exhibition Unit, a Play Park with Educational Playing Devices, an Energy Park, a 3D theatre, an Edusat TalkBack, a Terminal, an Energy ball, a motion simulator with six degrees of freedom, This museum’s well-equipped library is one of its main draws.
The services offered by the museum are charged separately: Museum, Gallery, and Park: Adults pay INR 25 per person, while kids and students pay INR 15 per person. Priyadarshini Planetarium: Adults pay INR 75 per person, while students and children pay INR 40 per person. 3D Theater: Adult tickets cost INR 25 per person, while student tickets cost INR 15 per person. Lazerium and Fountain: Adults pay INR 30 per person, while kids and students pay INR 20 per person. Observing the night sky costs adults INR 20 per person and students/children INR 15 per person.
