It is situated approximately 15 kilometers away from Konni on the highway and is part of the Adavi Eco Tourism project.
A Safe and Serene Spot for Families and Tourists
Tourists from all over the world flock to Adavi Eco Tourism to explore the beauty of nature and make a stop at Mannera Waterfalls. This waterfall is considered safe and is a popular destination for families with children. Although the surroundings are not maintained like a tourist attraction, it offers a peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by rubber trees and nearby houses. Visitors can enjoy a small tea shop nearby, but parking is limited to the narrow roadsides. Despite this, the overall experience is worth it.
To reach the freshwater pool at the top of the waterfall, visitors must climb up using the sideways built by locals. The waterfall has three levels, with the first level being safe for kids and women. The second level is the favorite among many, although the rocks can be slippery. The third level is also safe, with fewer crowds than the other levels. Visitors can also take a bath in the nearby river, located just 3 kilometers from the waterfall. The Adavi Eco Tourism Centre is nearby as well, making this spot perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and be surrounded by nature.
Plan Your Visit to Mannera Waterfalls
Mannera Waterfalls can be visited throughout the year, with the best time to visit is during the monsoon season when the waterfall is at its full glory and splendor. However, the ideal time for a safe visit is from October to March when the weather is pleasant and the stream is still active. There is no entry fee to access the waterfalls. Mannera Waterfalls is a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate your mind and body while exploring the surrounding forest and spotting some exotic birds and animals.
To reach Mannera Waterfalls, one has to take a detour from the Konni-Attachakkal-Malayattoor road and drive through the Cherthatta market. From there, follow a narrow and muddy path that leads to the valley where the waterfall is located. The path takes three routes from the valley that is dipped in nature’s green and all the routes will take you to the waterfalls. As driving through these mud paths is an uphill task, it is better to walk to the waterfalls.
Mannera Waterfalls is one of the many attractions that the Pathanamthitta district has to offer. Pathanamthitta is also home to other famous waterfalls such as Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls and Blapila Waterfalls, as well as eco-tourism destinations such as Adavi Eco Tourism and Konni Elephant Reserve. Pathanamthitta is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers who want to experience the charm and diversity of Kerala.
