Mavara Para, located in the picturesque Kurampala village of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, is a captivating tourist attraction. Surrounded by lush paddy fields and a stunning quarry lake, it offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. However, it’s important to know that Mavara Para is considered private property and has restricted entry since it is not an authorized tourist destination.
While the natural beauty of Mavara Para is truly captivating, reaching the spot can be a bit challenging due to narrow roads and limited parking. Visitors often need to navigate a 100-meter reverse downhill maneuver. To fully enjoy the experience, it is recommended to plan a visit during the morning or evening hours when the atmosphere is pleasant, and the views are at their best.
As Mavara Para is a private quarry location, it poses certain risks, and caution is strongly advised. Two viewpoints are available, offering distinct perspectives—one at the top and another at the bottom. It’s crucial to exercise caution during the visit, as the area lacks safety features, and the quarry region features deep reservoirs and sheer drops.
There is no entry fee to visit Mavara Para and is accessible on all days of the week. Enjoy the serene ambiance and breathtaking sights, but remember to respect the restricted entry status and prioritize safety throughout your visit.
