Mural Art Museum Thrissur is an art and archaeological museum in Thrissur District, Kerala. The museum is located at Kollengode Palace. In 1938, under the auspices of the Government of Cochin, the archaeological museum was started as Sree Mulam Chithrasala (Picture Gallery).
The gallery began in Thrissur Town Hall, on the balcony. An archaeological gallery was later added to the 1948 Image Collection. The Department of Archaeology bought a house in Chembukavu in Thrissur City in 1975, and the Archaeological and Picture Gallery moved to the new house in 1975 and named it Thrissur Archaeological Museum.
The museum premises once acted as Raja Kollengode’s summer retreat. This museum is renowned for its murals and artifacts from all over Kerala, showcasing the rich heritage of this exotic state. In addition, the temple has ancient examples of temple architecture and life-size sculptures of famous people. Thus, for history lovers and fans of arts and crafts, this location is a hidden treasure. Scholars also find this location useful for their study and pay a visit to this location.
