Perched atop a tranquil hill in Bicholim, Goa, the Namazgah stands as a testament to the region’s rich Islamic heritage. Constructed in 1683, this open-air prayer space, or eidgah, was established for Prince Akbar II, the rebellious son of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

The structure showcases a harmonious blend of Persian and Mughal architectural styles, featuring an open courtyard flanked by long balconies with columns crowned by crescent capitals. At its center lies a box-like enclosure with arched openings on each wall, topped by a distinctive dome. Visitors are rewarded with panoramic views of Bicholim and its surrounding landscapes, making it an ideal spot for photography, especially during sunset.
