Nellikunnu Mosque (Nellikunnu Muhyaddin Juma Masjid) is a mosque (masjid) situated at Nellikunnu in the Kasargod district of Kerala. One of Kasaragod’s pilgrimage centers, the mosque holds the tomb of Saint Thangal Uppapa. The famed Nercha season, which is performed to honor the legendary Saint Thangal Uppapa, attracts a large number of worshippers.
Despite the fact that the actual year of construction is unknown, Nellikunnu and the local Muslims owe their history to this beautiful masjid. This masjid is dedicated to Muhyddin Abdul Qader Jeelani, a saint. Thangal Uppapa Uroos is a ritual performed by the locals to commemorate the saint Thangal Uppapa’s death. It occurs every two years, usually during the month of Dul Hajj.
