Palkulamedu View Point is a breathtakingly lovely location that would rejuvenate any traveler’s spirit. It is located 12 kilometers from Idukki in Kerala. It is at a height of 3125 meters above sea level that it is addressed. It’s a fantastic place for adventurers and trekkers.

Witness Breathtaking Views from Palkulamedu Peak

A little freshwater pool at the top of the hill adds to the allure. The hill was given the name Pal-kulam-medu, which means a hill with a pool of nourishing water in Malayalam, because of its pool. The Palkulamedu Peak offers a spectacular perspective of the Periyar gorge. The broad swaths of evergreen hills, one after another, cover the horizon, and the stunning sunset and sunrise views make this a perfect viewing spot.

It’s about a 12-kilometer drive from Idukki. It is at a height of 3125 meters above sea level that it is addressed. The location is fascinating to visitors of all ages. The place can be visited at any time of year because the weather is pleasant throughout the year, except the monsoon season, which occurs from June to September. The location is close to Idukki, a natural destination, and also has similar historical occurrences in and around it.

Getting to Palkulamedu

The Palkulamedu mountain trek begins at Churali, a little village 8 kilometers from Cheruthony on the Adimali route. When you get to Churali, take the tarred road that leads to the hill. Alparai is the lone town along the way, a little town with a few tea shops and many helpful people. After 6 kilometers from Churai, you will come to another intersection, where you must turn left into a road with a severe incline (The other road goes down the hill). After 3 kilometers, this road will dissolve into a jeep road, traveling through cashew nut orchards with a few modest cottages on either side. Continue on this muddy road, passing through a few hairpin curves and high-tension power wires. After another hour of hiking, you’ll reach a huge plateau with the final mountain draped in green grass just before you. It takes another hour to climb to the top of this peak and reach Idukki’s roof.
