Siruvani Dam and Reservoir is a famous picnic spot in Kalladikodan hill ranges, located 46 kilometers away from Palakkad town. The Kerala government constructed the Siruvani Reservoir to meet the city of Coimbatore’s drinking water needs. Siruvani reservoir’s mineral-rich water nourishes Coimbatore’s district, quenches its hunger, and has been irrigating its rice fields for decades.
Two gateways on either side of the road across the dam welcome visitors at the Siruvani Dam, and they are typical of Kerala and Tamil architectural styles. The atmosphere, scenery, and surrounding greenery all add to the allure of the spot. The Tamil Nadu outpost also provides stunning views of Coimbatore.
The water is refreshing, and there are beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding forest. The forest is teeming with a variety of species, both native and non-native. On the banks of the Siruvani Reservoir is the popular 150-year-old Pattiyar Bungalow.
