8 Point Art Cafe – Where Art, Coffee, and Culture Meet
The 8 Point Art Cafe is situated in the renovated heritage structure ‘Parambarya’ inside the Asramam Picnic Village campus. The café blends art and food in the most fascinating fashion and is the city’s first art gallery that doubles as a popular hangout spot. Visitors can feel the art in every nook and corner of this serene and secluded space, next to Ashtamudi Lake. The café got its unique title from the eight creeks of the lake and the eight art forms integrated into its gallery.
In addition to showcasing beautiful art pieces, 8 Point Art Cafe also offers an array of cute plants for sale and a selection of decorative items on display. And for book lovers, the café features a Little Free Library with around 50 books where visitors can take any book without a fee by simply leaving another in its place. The 8 Point Art Café is also a center of cultural events, performances, and exhibitions, making it a favorite of tourists and locals alike. The café was introduced by the famous muralist and art director Mr. Shenley, who took the ‘Parambarya’ building from the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Kollam, to form 8 Point Art Café.
