Kadavupuzha Waterfalls or Kadavupuzha Aruvi Waterfall is a beautiful cascade of water that flows down from the hills above Anjumala Waterfalls, near Illikkal Kallu and Mechal in the Kottayam district of Kerala. The waterfall is located on the roadside, at a distance of 3.5 kilometers from Moonnilavu town and 2 kilometers from Mechal. Kadavupuzha is not very well-known among tourists, so you can enjoy the scenic beauty and tranquility of this place without much crowd.

Discover the Beauty of Kadavupuzha Waterfalls

Kadavupuzha Falls are seasonal waterfalls whose flow depends on the amount of rainfall in the region. The ideal time to visit the waterfall is during the monsoon season when the water level reaches its peak, and the waterfall looks stunning. Additionally, visitors can witness the formation of a rainbow near the waterfall when the sun reflects on the water droplets. The waterfall is encircled by lush greenery and rocks, providing a scenic view for nature enthusiasts and photographers.

To get to the Kadavupuzha Waterfalls, you can either take a bus or a taxi from Pala town or Erattupetta Muttam Road. The waterfall is conveniently located near the main road, and there is ample parking space nearby. Visitors do not need to pay an entrance fee or obtain a ticket to visit the waterfall. Upon arrival, you can walk down to the base of the waterfall to experience the refreshing water spray on your face. Moreover, you can hike up to the stream’s top, where you will find a beautiful bridge constructed to facilitate people’s movement during the monsoon season.

Kadavupuzha Waterfalls provides an ideal location for a day trip or a picnic with your loved ones. You can bask in the tranquility of nature, listening to the serene sounds of flowing water and birds chirping. Additionally, you can venture out to explore nearby attractions such as Illikkal Kallu, a rock formation that offers breathtaking views of the valley below, or Mechal, a hill station that features a temple and a church. Another attraction that is worth visiting is Anjumala Waterfalls, another stunning waterfall located upstream from Kadavupuzha Waterfall.

The Kadavupuzha Aruvi Waterfall is one of the hidden treasures of the Kottayam district. If you are planning to visit the Pala-Erattupetta area, make sure you include this waterfall in your itinerary. You will not regret it!
