Mappila Bay (also known as Moppila Bay) is a natural harbor near Ayikkara, Kannur Municipal Corporation, Kerala, India. During Kolathiri’s rule, the bay was well-known as a commercial port that transported goods between Kolathunadu and Lakshadweep and other countries.
Mappila Bay is more of a fishing port than a popular tourist attraction. Boating facilities are available to take you around the harbor. However, it is recommended that you stay only in inland areas and avoid coastal seas, which might become dangerous when the weather changes. Fort St. Angelo, which was built by the Portuguese in the 15th century on one side of the harbor, and the Arakkal Museum is on the other.
