Trekking to Thoovanam Waterfalls

To reach the falls, one needs to take a 4-kilometer-long trek through the forest from the Alampetty checkpost, which is about 7 kilometers from Marayoor. The trek usually takes between 2 to 3 hours and is moderate in difficulty. The trek is arranged by the forest department and you will be accompanied by a guide who belongs to the local tribal community. You can spend up to 45 minutes at the waterfall before returning to the checkpost.
