Veeranpuzha is also known as Kadakkarakkayal is a lake near Kochi, Kerala, India. Veeranpuzha is the Vembanad Lake’s northern extension. The Vembanad lake is known as “Veeranpuzha” from Kochi Azhi to Munambam Azhi. Munambam to Ernakulam boat services were available in the early 1980s. There are extensive paddy fields in the area, but no human habitation. The scarcity of freshwater is one of the reasons for the lack of dense human settlements.
